I am a fully qualified Therapeutic Counsellor, practising in the Orpington/Bromley Borough area (10 minutes' walk from Orpington High Street and 15 minutes by car from Central Bromley), although I also cover clients from the wider South East London and Kent areas, including: Beckenham, Biggin Hill, Tatsfield, Coney Hall and Croydon.
My experience includes 10 years within SLAM (South London & Maudsley) NHS Trust in London. This work involved working with patients suffering with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, self-harm, abuse, PTSD, suicidal ideation, OCD, panic attacks, childhood trauma, bereavement, alcohol dependency, panic disorders and personality disorders, amongst other struggles. This work was undertaken through 1:1, Group and Family therapy. During this time, I also received one year's trainng at the Institute of Psychiatry, studying Systemic (Family/Couple/Relationship) Therapy.
I am told that I have a welcoming and personable nature and can relate to all types of people.
I believe that every individual is unique and important and has the right to be heard and supported, when struggling with mental health problems, whether these be long or short-term. Hence the reason for my passion in working to provide a safe, genuine, non-judgemental space for you, my client, to explore and work through such difficulties, gaining insight and clarity, enabling you to find answers and peace of mind for short-term issues, or more positive ways to manage your mental health with long-term struggles.
